The next step for the auction platform

Digital Innovation and Lac Viet Auction Partnership launched blockchain-enabled online auction functionality on 8 August 2023. It marked a further step in the collaboration between DION’s engineering capabilities and Lac Viet’s auction expertise.

DION developed the functionality around a specific operational use case. The focus was not blockchain as a technology label, but an additional way to reference information within the platform.

Built using BNB Smart Chain

The solution uses BNB Smart Chain, previously commonly known as Binance Smart Chain. The network supports smart contracts compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Using the network does not imply sponsorship or commercial endorsement by Binance.

The supplied auction interface shows smart-contract and transaction-address references. Such links offer a basis for looking up related information; they do not replace business-process checks, asset ownership verification or the auction organizer’s responsibilities.

Technology shaped by a practical problem

Developing a new capability for a specialist system requires connecting technical design with how people work. A data-recording mechanism is valuable when it has a clear place in the workflow and is presented understandably.

The Lac Viet partnership provides a foundation for refining the product around operational needs. The 2023 launch reflects DION’s approach: choosing and implementing technology to solve practical problems rather than pursuing technology labels.
