DION and Lac Viet develop an online auction platform together
Launched on 1 May 2020, the Lac Viet online auction platform marked a partnership between Lac Viet’s auction expertise and Digital Innovation’s engineering capabilities.
From domain needs to a digital platform
Digital Innovation partnered with strategic partner Lac Viet Auction Partnership to develop an online auction platform. The project combined domain knowledge with DION’s software development capabilities.
Press reporting records the launch on 1 May 2020. At introduction, the system was in a trial stage awaiting appraisal and licensing. Launch therefore should not be confused with approval to conduct official auctions.
A partnership built around complementary expertise
Đỗ Thị Hồng Hạnh was General Director of Lac Viet Auction Partnership. At that time, Nguyễn Trọng Hùng held the official roles of Director of Digital Innovation Company Limited and Director of Novatic Joint Stock Company.
The collaboration laid the foundation for a specialist product. Operational processes, information and user interactions needed to become practical software capabilities. The task was not simply to put an activity on a website, but to translate domain requirements into a suitable system.
A milestone in DION’s product journey
Lac Viet became an important milestone in DION’s development of products for organizational needs. It illustrates the value of sustained collaboration between engineers and people who understand the application domain.
DION starts with practical value: understanding the problem, developing a product and refining it with partners. The 2020 launch began that journey in online auctions.
